What this site processes, and why
Privacy notice
This notice describes what the Buy Cottages demonstration site processes, as built. It is written for the demonstration, not for a live service; at go-live it is rewritten around the real operator and providers.
What stays in your browser
The site stores interface preferences and demonstration records under the buycottages: prefix in this browser’s local storage: your theme, motion, and cursor choices, the install dismissal, and any enquiries, accepted quotes, or auction registrations you make (with the references they issue). These never leave your browser, and the buycottages:desk-states entries move them across the desk view. Clearing site data removes them; the desk view also works with storage unavailable.
What leaves your browser
One thing, on your action: the postcode you type into the sold-price explorer is sent to HM Land Registry’s published Price Paid service to fetch results. Nothing else is attached — no identifier, no cookie, no session. The Land Registry is the data controller for that request and its logs.
What this site does not do
No cookies. No analytics, tags, or fingerprinting. No advertising. No account, login, or third-party embeds. No server of ours receives anything, because in the demonstration there is no backend.
Your choices
Clear this site’s storage to erase everything the demonstration holds. The theme, motion, and cursor controls change their settings at any time. If the live service changes this picture, the change and the new notice appear here before it takes effect.
Your privacy choices
The desk currently sets no optional measurement at all, so there is no consent choice to change: the site works the same either way. If a measurement provider is connected later, this page becomes the place to accept or reject it — equally, with one click each way.
